Entry Level Civil Engineer

SRD Engineers is a multidiscipline civil engineering firm with over 20 years of experience managing a variety of projects for public and private clients. Our team is comprised of highly qualified and experienced staff of transportation engineers, which utilize the latest technology and innovative solutions to plan, design and produce quality products for our client’s. Our projects include multimodal design solutions that are context sensitive to the needs of the communities, especially underserved populations. We have added features including multimodal transportation infrastructure serving people with disabilities and economic challenges, as well as buffered bike lanes and shared use recreational paths to environmentally friendly transportation modes. We specialize in roadway design, site development, drainage engineering, hydraulics & hydrology, permitting, transportation planning, traffic engineering, signal design, utility coordination, lighting design and subsurface utility engineering. 

SRD Engineers is currently seeking Entry Level Civil Engineers to join our team! This position will include preparation of design plans, specifications, and reports for transportation projects throughout the State of Florida. The E.I. will work under the direction and mentorship of a Florida Registered Professional Engineer.

Responsibilities:

·        Computer-aided design and drafting of site layout, roadway, grading, and utility systems using Microstation, AutoCAD Civil3D and Open Roads Designer.

·        Assists in report preparation, site reconnaissance, and communications with the project team.

·        Review’s regulations and standards necessary to carry out project design and permitting work.

·        Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.

·        Utilizes standard techniques, procedures, and criteria while gaining understanding of advanced methods.

·        Develop engineering solutions that save lives and promote a healthier planet. 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Required.
• Licensed Florida Engineering Intern (E.I.) Required.
• Internship experience in the design of highway/roadway civil engineering transportation projects is a plus.
• Working knowledge with CADD, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook are required.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must hold a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
