What We’re Looking For
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be available to work at least two weekends per month as part of a rotating schedule
- A calm, patient, and empathetic demeanor especially in high-stress situations
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Experience in animal care, training, or behavior is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions
What You’ll Do
- Provide daily care to dogs and cats including feeding, grooming, cleaning kennels, cleaning catios/condos, and monitoring animal health and behavior
- Implement daily routines and training programs under the direction of a professional, that align with organizational standards and promote the behavioral health and overall well-being of each animal in our care
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, training progress, and behavioral or medical observations
- Handle the messier aspects of animal care such as cleaning up after dirty dogs, handling diarrhea, and other unglamorous tasks
- Create a calm, low-stress environment for animals through enrichment and routine
- Take pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming facility by staying on top of routine cleaning duties—including building upkeep, laundry, and sanitation tasks—to ensure a healthy environment for both animals and people
- Consistently communicate with professionalism while embodying and promoting the organization’s mission, values, and culture in all interactions
- Respond to animal emergencies with composure and sound judgment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Morning shift
- Rotating weekends
