Job description
Valuations Intern Position Description:
- Assist with the valuation process for private credit and private equity investments, a quarterly process covering a wide variety of asset classes across numerous borrowers/issuers
- Interface with internal investment team members and external valuation providers to create accurate, timely valuations
- Collaborate with investment teams to understand new investments and deal underwriting assumptions
- Value financial instruments and complex securities across the capital structure independently, including loans, equity (common/preferred), convertibles, and warrants
- Create summary materials and present to valuation committees for review and approval of significant changes/events, valuation and market trends, and key judgments
- Support quarterly external valuation processes with third party service providers and auditors
- Work with deal teams to understand portfolio company performance, metrics, and assist with monitoring direct private credit and private equity investments
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3.5 GPA.
- Interest in private markets with a major concentration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, etc.
- Ability to logically discuss steps to determine an investment decision.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office
- Previous experience at an investment / asset manager preferred, but not required.
