About the Position
In this role, you will...
- Monitor Pop-up library operations and participate in strategic planning for the library and library system.
- Supervise staff and coordinate workflow for effective and efficient delivery of adult and youth outreach and Pop-up Library services throughout the county.
- Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate special projects, services, and programs.
- Provide opportunities for continuing professional development of self and other staff members, especially in acquiring relevant understanding and skills via coaching and performance management.
- Keep abreast of developments, new trends, and innovations in libraries.
- Oversee financial, compliance, operational and performance audits, ensuring appropriate controls are established and implemented.
- Handle employee relation issues.
- Prepare and present activity reports and technical information.
- Ensure standards of service that provide prompt and efficient resolution of each inquiry by internal and external customers, delivered with the utmost respect and courtesy.
- Manage proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection and risk mitigation activities in area of responsibility.
- Collaborate with co-workers to evaluate the volunteer needs for each service center (for example: Library branches, Historical Resources, Technical Services, Info Central, Administration).
- Develop resources for and conducts training sessions for staff/volunteers to support effective service delivery.
- Serve as the Department liaison to the County Volunteer Program; communicates Program policies and procedures.
- Seek opportunities to continue professional and personal learning (self).
- Maintain and submit statistics related to volunteers.
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
- Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
- Must be available to work: Sunday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, etc.
- Employee may be re-assigned to a different work location (other than original assignment) within the library system to meet changing service needs.
- As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Library and Information Services
- Two (2) years of related outreach experience
- One year of supervisory experience
- Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience, specifically in a public library.
- Above average customer service skills, with an ability to multitask and to adapt to various/changing duties as required.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

Starting Pay: $61,755.20 annually.
