Fall 2023 Onboarding Intern

Join our team for exclusive access to practical and real-world HR onboarding services! You'll be working with our experienced Talent Acquisition & Onboarding team to support the transition of our new Full-Time employees across all business areas. 

We’re committed to ensuring that our new employees are supported, prepared and feel a sense of belonging as they begin their Paychex career. As an HR Onboarding intern, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Actively engage with newly hired employees to gather insights and feedback about their onboarding and initial experiences within the organization including:
    • Organize Focus Groups: Plan and coordinate small focus group sessions where new employees can discuss their experiences, challenges, and suggestions
    • Facilitation: Serve as facilitator during focus group discussions, guide conversations, and ensure all participants have an opportunity to express their views
    • Documentation: Document the key takeaways, insights, and recommendations shared during these sessions to obtain valuable employee feedback
  • Contribute to the successful onboarding process of new employees by assisting, coordinating, and preparing virtual and in person New Hire Welcome presentations
    • Content Coordination: Collaborate with various team members to gather and create meaningful content for New Hire Welcome presentations
    • Facilitation Assistance: Support facilitators during orientation sessions; which may involve managing breakout groups, assisting with Q&A sessions, and keeping the audience engaged and focused
  • Assist in ad hoc reporting of New Hire Onboarding Surveys 
    • Data Analysis: Partner with Onboarding Manager to employ statistical and analytical techniques to interpret the collection of data. This could include analysis 
    • Identifying Trends: Identifying trends and patterns in the survey data to pinpoint areas of strength and areas of opportunity
    • Communicate Findings: Utilize survey data to create presentations to provide for internal business partners; enabling them to make decisions that will impact their respective business units.
  • Review onboarding materials including training, resources, and more!

Considerations for our HR Onboarding Intern:

  • A JR or SR enrolled in an accredited College/ University 
  • Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration/ Management, Psychology or related major 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills 
  • General writing/ copy writing experience
