Legal Assistant

This position is ideal for a local Legal Assistant with 2+ years of experience who thrives in a small, dynamic and growing legal setting. Candidates with relevant experience in professional services industries (e.g., public accounting, consulting, engineering, or marketing) may also be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide superior client service, acting as a liaison between clients and attorneys via email, phone, and in-person communication
  • Follow up with clients on case status, appointments, and billing
  • Handle potential clients professionally and confidently
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and legal assistants
  • Prepare correspondence, agreements, employee handbooks, and legal documents
  • Manage attorneys’ calendars, schedule court dates, depositions, and client meetings
  • Ensure timely court filings and assist attorneys in preparation for court appearances
  • Organize and maintain paper and electronic client files
  • Contribute to process improvement and documentation standards
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and work proactively

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of recent legal assistant experience (or experience in a similar professional services setting)
  • Experience scheduling depositions, managing calendars, handling expenses, and creating expense reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal software, dictation/transcription tools, and document management systems
  • Familiarity with employment law and legal terminology is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills—confident, trustworthy, and dependable
  • Stable job history
