Legal Administrative Assistant

That’s why we’re looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to partners in our bankruptcy & creditors’ rights practice group. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for…                

  • Coordinating all aspects of Bankruptcy partners practices including managing calendars, scheduling travel, and coordinating client events; Interacting with clients by phone, email and in person
  • Working with various timekeepers on all pre- and post-trial assignments, i.e. management of large document production, pleadings files and trial binder preparation and maintenance, and conducting online research
  • Preparing correspondence, legal documents, forms, presentations, and the like; Effectively proofreading and editing documentation for grammatical and typographical errors
  • Effectively establishing and maintaining well-organized files, while managing the integrity of original client documents
  • Coordinating with billing attorneys on all monthly pre-bills and necessary revisions; preparing bills for mailing, maintaining billing records and entering attorney time
  • Maintaining confidentiality, assuring work product is accurate and presented professionally and making efforts to foster a positive rapport with all internal and external contacts
  • Light office operations such as retrieving and delivering local office mail and packages to mailroom; maintaining and ordering office supplies; setting and cleaning up conference room for client meetings; submitting work orders for engineering or janitorial service as needed

The successful candidate will demonstrate…

  • A minimum of two years’ partner-level administrative support experience within a Law Firm, required
  • Experience preparing and maintaining pleadings files
  • Advanced use of MS Word (including redlining, advanced formatting); Strong document production skills; keen attention to detail, grammar, and punctuation, ability to articulate thoughts and effectively present new ideas and findings
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills using MS Office Suite; Strong computer aptitude in order to use various Firm-supported software programs (including eFiling, DocuSign, PDF Essentials, etc.)
  • Familiarity with document management systems (iManage is preferred)
  • Ability to transcribe legal documents, correspondence, and reports from rough draft, dictation, or transcription
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization; Ability to interact with clients demonstrating a commitment to service excellence
