Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Department: Manufacturing Engineering                              Manager: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Tier Level: 15                                                                                FLSA: Non-Exempt

Education: 

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field is required.

Previous Work Experience:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Experience working in an ISO regulated environment is desirable.
  • Lean Six Sigma training or certification is desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Ability to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
  • Visual strain at times due to prolonged exposure to computer monitor.

Essential Functions:

  • Support projects with Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Assist with understanding and interpreting specifications on drawings.
  • Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Execute IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols.
  • Receives additional direction from the Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with others.
  • Possess project management skills and manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language proficiently to ensure compliance with our ISO 13485 procedures. 


 

 

Demonstrated Competencies:

  • Execute a validation protocol and ensure it is properly documented.
  • Create and complete a simple tooling or fixture design in a CAD program and generate detailed drawings for assembly or fabrication (currently, using SolidWorks).
  • Effectively utilize and support ERP system (GSS), including pulling of data for analysis.
  • Consistently maintain status tasks using project management software (ClickUp).
